The newly opened GrandStay in Kaukauna, Wisconsin marks another successful new build for our team, driven by collaboration, clarity, and a streamlined approach to procurement.

This project came to us after the owner had previously been working with another design firm and was ultimately looking for a more dependable, efficient experience. While the design direction and specifications were already established, Furniture Industries’ role focused squarely on procurement, ensuring the approved package was delivered accurately, on time, and aligned with the needs of a new-build environment.

One of the key factors in the project’s success was familiarity. GrandStay Kaukauna was largely a replication of the FF&E package we previously completed for GrandStay Johnston, IA, the first project we partnered on with this ownership group. That consistency allowed for a smoother process across the board, from product selection to ordering and coordination.

“Because this property followed the same package as GrandStay Johnston, it helped streamline the entire process,” shared Kelsey Korolchuk, CID, Project Manager and Interior Designer on this project. “With clear specs in place, our focus was on executing procurement efficiently and keeping everything moving forward without unnecessary delays.”

The project was a new build and completed with a repeat general contractor who was highly self-sufficient and proactive throughout construction. That level of coordination contributed to an overall smooth experience, with minimal issues beyond typical design-related clarifications. While Furniture Industries did not perform the installation on this project, the contractor noted that installation proved to be one of the more challenging aspects and expressed interest in partnering with our team for installation support on future projects.

From start to finish, GrandStay Kaukauna is a strong example of how repeatable design packages, experienced partners, and clear roles can lead to successful outcomes, even in fast-moving new-build environments. With procurement handled seamlessly and collaboration at the forefront, the property was able to open its doors ready to welcome guests with confidence.
