fii Team Helps Generation Companies
Win Top Hilton Award
(July 15, 2010) Hilton has just awarded Developer of the Year for 2009 (Homewood Suites brand) to Furniture Industries client, Generation Companies of Durham, NC. The project for which they won was the company's Homewood Suites hotel in Wilmington, NC where fii provided interior design, procurement and installation services.
Accoring to Arnie Labofsky, fii COO, "Over the years, Generation has brought us in to work on several of their IHG projects. However, this was their first property with a Hilton flag, and I think our FFE experience with other Hilton brands helped everyone make this Wilmington project move smoothly.
Eleven New Projects
Announced in First Quarter
(March 23, 2010) “Though 2010 hospitality openings will be down again this year, we’re finding solid footing for our FF& E services,” this according to Marc Gensler, Director of Sales for National Accounts at Furniture Industries. Today he announced that the firm has booked and/or completed eleven new interior design, procurement and installation projects in just the first quarter of this year. The flags involved include Candlewood Suites, Holiday Inn Express, Comfort Inn, Days Inn, Country Inns & Suites, Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites, and LaQuinta. Gensler continued, “Several of these contracts are with frachisees who have teamed up with us in the past and appreciate how we finish on schedule and within budget. Others are with new customers who have found the value of working with Furniture Industries for either new construction or renovation projects.”
RiverPointe of Moorhead Opens
Senior Living Project Completed
(November 12, 2009) The RiverPointe senior living community in Moorhead, MN opened on schedule today. Managed by Walker Methodist Eldercare Services, ground was broken for this project in the fall of 2008. In February, 2009, the owner, CSLM, LLC of Edina, MN contracted with Furniture Industries for FF&E design, procurement and installation services. According to company COO Arnold Labofsky, "Though this is our first senior living project, one of the CSLM investors also has developed several hospitality projects that we've helped design. The success we had with those developments led to the RiverPointe opportunity which now has met everyone's expectations." Now completed, RiverPointe consists of 58 residences, plus assisted living and memory care facilities.
October Closes with the Month's
4th New Project Assignment
(October 31, 2009) The development company, WKS Shakopee, LLC has tapped fii to provide interior design and procurement for an 87-room Hampton Inn project slated to open April, 2010 in Shakopee MN. According to fii COO Arnold Labofsky, "This will be the first time we've worked on a hospitality project for WKS. However, their people are very knowledgeable; and we believe that when we have met their expectations on this project, we will earn the opportunity to work for them again."

Assigns Project
(Octtober 28, 2009) V & R Motels of Farmington Hills, MO has inked its sixth contract with fii. This one covers FF&E design and procurement for V & R's new Candlewood Suites project being developed in Cape Girardeau, MO. The 85 room complex is slated for opening in Spring 2010.
Candlewood Suites Opens
in Lafayette, IN
(October 12, 2009) Kapil, LLC opened it's new Candlewood Suites property on Monday, October 12th in Lafayette, Indiana. This 81-room facility joins the LaQuinta and Baymont properties which Kapil already has in the metro area. fii began the interior design work on this project in May and completed procurement and installation on Sept. 30.

(October 5, 2009) Ehrhardt Properties of Chillicothe, MO has assigned fii responsibility for interior design & procurement for the guestrooms in their new Comfort Inn & Suites project in Chillicothe. When completed, the property will have 62 guest rooms and suites and become the 7th time Ehrhardt has teamed up with fii on one of it's projects. Scheduled opening is March, 2010.

(June 16, 2009) Generation Companies of suburban Durham, North Carolina has contracted with fii for interior design, procurement and installation on their upcoming Homewood Suites project in Wilmington, NC. The recipient of numerous industry awards and honors, Generation Companies owns or operates dozens of hospitality properties in the southeast. Slated for an April, 2010 opening, this 118-room project will be the 8th one they have done with fii.
Marc Gensler Appointed
National Accounts Director
(March 9, 2009) Furniture Industries, Inc. announces the promotion of Marc Gensler to Director of Sales, National Accounts, for the 57-year-old company's hospitality FF&E project management group. Gensler, a Chicago commercial sales veteran, joined fii in December, 2008, as part of the firm's overall expansion program. According to COO Arnold Labofsky, "Though Marc's a dealmaker at heart, he's shown an amazing aptitude for resolving the 'nuts and bolts' issues that come up almost daily in the FF&E world. It's a talent our national accounts appreciate because they know his ongoing involvement is added assurance their projects will move smoothly."
